The Present Subjunctive

In Italian, the Congiuntivo is used in subordinate clauses to express doubt, opinion, desire, emotion, or uncertainty. It is usually introduced by the conjunction che.

Regular Verbs in Present Subjunctive

• -are verbs (parlare): parli, parli, parli, parliamo, parliate, parlino
• -ere verbs (credere): creda, creda, creda, crediamo, crediate, credano
• -ire verbs (sentire): senta, senta, senta, sentiamo, sentiate, sentano
