Detailed transparency statement on our data handling practices, artificial intelligence usage, speech recognition privacy, CEFR curriculum standards, and EU/Italian regulatory compliance.
Lingobar is an independent digital educational platform designed for conversational Italian language acquisition, currently operating in Open Beta. Core learning curriculum materials (including structured grammar units, graded stories, vocabulary flashcards, and review suites across CEFR levels A1 through B2) are accessible free of charge.
Open Beta & Sustainable Infrastructure Policy: As an early-adopter reward, the first 500 registered user accounts are designated as Lifetime Founder VIP accounts. Because cloud-hosted AI features, real-time voice synthesis, and speech recognition depend on variable-cost third-party API infrastructure, these dynamic services are subject to daily fair-use limits. Lingobar reserves the right to adjust fair-use caps or introduce optional paid supporter memberships in the future as necessary to cover operating and hosting expenditures.
In compliance with the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation EU 2022/2065) and Italian E-Commerce Decree (D.Lgs. 70/2003), users may reach platform administration for regulatory inquiries, data subject requests, or technical notifications directly via our Contact Channel.
In accordance with Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation EU 2024/1689) on AI transparency, we explicitly disclose the use and limitations of AI technologies on this platform:
Lingobar operates on a privacy-by-design architecture complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR - Reg. EU 2016/679) and the Italian Privacy Code (D.Lgs. 196/2003 as amended by D.Lgs. 101/2018):
Study progress, notebook highlights, and quiz scores are stored entirely on your local device via browser localStorage with complete offline functionality.
We never sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal information, study habits, or account credentials with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
Data Subject Rights: Under Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, export (portability), or completely delete your account data (Right to Erasure / Diritto all'Oblio). You can execute complete account erasure instantly in your Profile Settings or contact us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali - www.garanteprivacy.it).
• Italian Jurisdiction: In compliance with Article 2-quinquies of D.Lgs. 196/2003 (Italian Privacy Code), the age of digital consent for information society services in Italy is set at 14 years of age. Users under 14 residing in Italy must obtain parental or guardian consent.
• EU & International (COPPA / GDPR): In jurisdictions outside Italy, users must be at least 13 years of age (or the applicable legal age in their territory) to create an account or provide personal data.
Pursuant to the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC) and the Garante Privacy Guidelines on Cookies (June 10, 2021):
Our learning path is organized around the levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR: A1, A2, B1, B2).
Important Accreditation Disclaimer: Completion of modules, revision tests, or Master Tests on Lingobar represents personal self-study milestones. Lingobar is not an accredited university or formal examination board and does not grant official government-certified language diplomas (such as official CILS from University of Siena, CELI from University of Perugia, or PLIDA from Dante Alighieri Society).
